Trying to figure out how to teach college administrators how to use a grants management system can be tricky, if not downright daunting. After all, there you have a group of administrators who were used to one type of grant management system and are now preparing to be thrust into an entirely different kind of grant management system.
Now what?
As it turns out, learning how to take advantage of different grants management systems is not nearly as difficult nor as daunting as one would make it out to seem. At IT Works, coming up with new systems and ways of doing things to make it easier to function is what we do…at least when it comes to academic and research institutions.
Whether you are preparing to train new staff members on a grant management system that you have never used before, or whether you are taking a grants management system and doing something else with it within an academic setting, the key is to first understand how that system works and, second- to then find someone (preferably another college administrator) to instruct others within the department on how to use the system.
The great news about most grant management software (at least the one with IT Works) is that it integrates seamlessly with pre existing grants management systems. This is great news for those who have gotten used to one way of doing things and who may be apprehensive about learning something entirely different.
No doubt, as time progresses, we will likely see more changes and advancements in the fields of technological communications. If so, this could spell out more changes for the grant management are in colleges and universities; and while it may not affect those students who are applying for funding, it will most certainly affect those who are on the other end of that grant proposal.
