  2. Based on reviews of the previous models and of reviews on other sites, thought this would be a good value.Setup was easy and straightforward. Picture was good / adequate. Tuner was good / adequate. Sound was tinny and cheap sounding even when near and I would not recommend this TV based on the sound.

What everyone else says is pretty much true, with the exception of the one guy who disliked the sound quality.

The picture is decent, the controls/set-up menu is user friendly, the sound quality is EXCELLENT for what it is.

All in all, not bad for a sub-$200 television.

My unit has a power supply issue..if left on for extended periods, the TV will shut down, requiring that the power cord be unplugged to “reset” before it can be turned off properly and restarted.

Not a MAJOR glitch, as most folks aren’t going to do two-day marathon watching sessions as a matter of course..

Another annoying thing is the reflective black facia surrounding the screen. If there is a lamp on somewhere in the room, odds are pretty good that you’ll have a distracting light reflected back at you from the periphery of the picture..not a HUGE thing, but still annoying, yanno?

So I bought this to replace my tv in my bedroom and I saw that it was fairly priced, and decided to take a chance on it. It delivered promptly, and I am happy with what I’ve gotten. I use it mainly for playing video games on my XBOX 360, and movies from my laptop through HDMI. It looks wonderful when I play HD movies, tried “Speed Racer” and it gets pretty intense (especially considering the size and price!)

The volume is just what I need. I don’t expect to have a tv that booms out sound, if I wanted that I’d hook it up to some proper speakers. It’s soft when I need it to be, and loud enough when I want more volume. I don’t notice any odd sounds coming from it, but I guess that’s really particular to each person’s ears.

    PROS:

-Good Price, at least in comparison to the high end brands like Samsung, or Sony

    -large screen

    -hdmi port

-Channel List feature: lets you name channels, and pops up in the corner of the screen (unobtrusively in my opinion) allowing you to scroll through it when you just can’t remember the number of that blasted HD Channel.

-It’s very light, so I don’t strain to move it around.

    -TV Tuner

    -Component Inputs

-Excellent viewing range, I can sit far to the right, or left and still see the picture without any dimming.

    NEUTRAL:

-Color setting features (Warm, cool, etc)

-Can be used as a Computer Monitor (Haven’t had the chance to hook up a tower so no opinions yet.)

    CONS:

-It’s got one of those indicator lights that sits front and center that doesn’t turn off. Red when not in use, green when it is. Not really a fan since I keep the tv in my room and I like to have the room in complete darkness when I sleep.

-Leans more on the HD end of television, meaning that watching channels not designated for High Definition look terrible.

-The Remote: poor layout, and the buttons are sometimes unresponsive. Get a Universal Remote instead.

    -Stand is a bit flimsy

My overall impression of this television is that it’s great, and serves my needs well. I figure it’ll eventually fall prey to the pitfalls of lcd televisions, fixed/stuck pixels, dead pixels, and what have you, but I’ve had this tv for a couple of months now and it’s still going strong without any problems.

I bought this TV based on all of the reviews from around the various shopping websites. What can I say, I’m happy! Got this TV yesterday and installed last night. I have it hooked up to our OTA antenna using the built in tuner and American Idol looked as good on this TV as my 50 inch Panasonic plasma. Sound was perfectly fine for the size TV. I don’t believe there is a 22″ LCD in existence that is going to give you room filling sound so to expect it from this TV is absurd. This was the best money I’ve spent on technology in a long time. Viore has made a believer in me.
